Job Posting: Executive Director, Patient Client Family Council


Location: Midland/Penetang, some travel required

Job Type: Full-Time

The Patient Client Family Council (PCFC) is a peer organization dedicated to enhancing the voice and experience of patients, clients, and their families within the Mental Health and Addiction system. By fostering collaborative relationships between service recipients and healthcare providers, and providing direct peer services to clients, we aim to improve service quality and create a more person-centered approach to care delivery. We are currently seeking an innovative and dedicated Executive Director to lead this important mission.


The Executive Director will oversee all operations, programs, and strategic initiatives for the Patient Client Family Council. Reporting directly to the Patient Client Family Council Board of Directors, this leadership role requires an individual who is committed to serving patients and their families, possesses strong management skills, and can effectively represent their interests within the healthcare framework. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape, financial acumen, and exceptional communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

• Provide visionary leadership and direction for the Patient Client Family Council, ensuring alignment with the council’s mission and goals.

• Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives to enhance the effectiveness of the program.

• Foster relationships with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community organizations, and service recipients to ensure a collaborative approach to care.

• Advocate for the needs and concerns of patients, clients, and families, ensuring their voices are integrated into organizational policies and practices.

• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of Council members and staff, promoting a culture of inclusivity and professionalism.

• Maintain robust financial oversight, including budget management, fundraising, and resource allocation to ensure the sustainability of the Council’s initiatives.

• Develop and manage programs aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing patient and family experiences.

• Report regularly to the Board of Directors on organizational performance, strategic initiatives, and key issues affecting patients, clients, and families.

• Represent the PCFC at conferences, meetings, and public engagements, effectively communicating our mission and outcomes.

• Monitor industry trends and best practices to inform the Council's strategies and programs.

Qualifications:

• Applicant must have personal lived experience of accessing Mental Health and/or addiction services

• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a healthcare or nonprofit organization, with a focus on patient/client/family engagement.

• Proven experience in a management role with an emphasis on team-building and staff development.

• In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, policies, and regulations, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by service recipients and their families.

• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, fundraising, and grant writing.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences, including patients, healthcare professionals, and community members.

• A person-centered approach to service delivery, demonstrating empathy and respect for the needs and perspectives of service recipients.

• Proficiency in data analysis and evaluation to measure outcomes and drive improvements.
