Group & Activity Descriptions

Below you can find outlines of our community groups and activities

Peer-Led Wellness and Recovery Group

Our Peer-Led Wellness and Recovery group focuses on a new topic each week. Led by peers with lived experiences, this four-week January series is designed to help you move from feeling overwhelmed to feeling in control.

Topics Include:

Understanding Triggers – This session will help identify the external events or internal feelings that can cause distress and feelings of being “triggered”.

Coping Skills – Explore a variety of healthy strategies to manage stress, ground yourself and navigate difficult emotions in the moment.

Warning Signs and Early Action – This week we discuss how to recognize the “red flags” that indicate your wellness is slipping and how to create a safety plan.

Building a Safety Plan – Building on the previous weeks sessions together we will create a document that outlines your support network, emergency contacts, and a step-by-step process for staying safe.

Kitchen Remedies

Tired of making the same recipes over and over? Our Kitchen Remedies group is offered each Friday and explores a brand-new recipe every single week. No pros, just peers who learn by doing together and we believe that everyone has a “secret ingredient” to share. Come join us to sharpen your skills, discover new recipes, and enjoy a meal with great company.  (Also join us for our Meal Planning groups if you would like to help us choose a recipe!).

Meal Planning

Our Meal Planning group is designed to help individuals maximize their food budgets using ingredients found at local discount stores and food sharing programs. Come connect with your peers to share low cost meal ideas, tips, and tricks.

Mindfulness & Tea

In a world that never stops moving, we invite you to take a breath and a sip. Our Peer-Led Mindfulness & Tea group is where we practice the art of being present. Each week, we pair a simple guided mindfulness practice with a shared pot of tea! There are no experts here, we’ll explore different mindfulness techniques and various flavors of tea learning from one another as we go.
