E Health Conference

Helen (PCFC Manager) was invited to speak at the E Health Conference in Vancouver, along with Dr. Andrea Waddell (Medical Director – Clinical Informatics and Quality Standards at Waypoint) and Jeannie Borg (Director – System Innovation at Waypoint) about the successful roll out of the Patient Portal on the Georgianwood Inpatient unit at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.

Helen spoke about the importance of engaging patients/clients throughout the roll out process, and the value of having people with lived experience gathering that patient voice and feedback.

The conference was also a great place to connect with others with lived experience in all aspects of healthcare, and Helen also spent time at the “Ask a Patient” booth, working with her peers to answer questions from people at the conference around successfully engaging those with lived experience to effect changes at the system level in healthcare.
