The Patient/Client and Family Council believes in empowering those who are living with mental health and addiction issues. One way that we can achieve empowerment is by offering volunteer and staff positions to consumers of the system.
Whether it is by volunteering, becoming a member on the Board of Directors or by joining our staff in the Canteens we encourage our peers to get involved. The PCFC believes that this is a great way to strengthen self-esteem, build confidence, and prepare for future employment opportunities.
There are many opportunities to get involved in our work. We are currently looking for people with lived experience of anxiety and/or depression to join us and the COSH Network partners in co-designing a care pathway for people with anxiety and/or depression.
We would also love to hear from people in our community with lived experience of mental illness and/or addiction, who would be interested in sharing their recovery journey with us. Wherever you are in your journey, your experiences are incredibly valuable in helping to shape the future of healthcare in the region.
